Shrimati Indira Gandhi College (SIGC), Trichy, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, jointly organized a special Induction Program for First-Year UG students.

We were honored to host Ms. Pinky Janarthanam, Program Manager of Naan Mudhalvan | TNSDC, for an inspiring session held on campus from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

The program began with an induction address to first-year students, where Ms. Pinky guided them on setting career goals and leveraging Naan Mudhalvan initiatives to build skills and shape their future. Her insightful session inspired the freshers to dream big and focus on growth and opportunities.

Following this, she conducted an interactive feedback and strategy session with second and third-year students, gathering their suggestions to enhance the effectiveness of Naan Mudhalvan schemes on campus.

We extends our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Pinky for her invaluable guidance and continued support in empowering students through skill development and career readiness initiatives.

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Trichy, successfully organized a virtual placement drive in collaboration with Glow Logics Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, on September 29, 2025.

The event commenced with an insightful pre-placement talk, where company representatives shared valuable information about career growth opportunities, organizational culture, and key job roles.

Following this, the selection process moved on to personal interviews, designed to evaluate students’ communication skills, sales abilities, and situational handling capabilities, ensuring they were well-suited for the dynamic role offered.

Final year UG/PG students from various departments actively participated in the drive, showcasing their talent, enthusiasm, and determination to excel.

In his address, Mr. Ahmed shared valuable insights on personal growth, innovation, and the need for developing a positive mindset. He highlighted how effective communication plays a vital role in shaping one’s career and overall success. Through an interactive discussion, he motivated students to embrace continuous learning, resilience, and adaptability to meet the challenges of today’s competitive world.

Domain Skill Development Training for English Department Students

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Tiruchirappalli, in association with Confidence organized a Domain Skill Development Training program for the Pre-final & Final Year students of the English Department.

The training aimed to equip students with essential language, communication, and professional competencies that complement their academic learning and prepare them for future career pursuits.

The program included focused sessions on English Language Communication, Personality Training, Content Writing, and IELTS Preparation.

The Communication Training module enhanced students’ fluency, pronunciation, and confidence in both academic and workplace communication.

The Personality Training sessions encouraged self-presentation, leadership, goal setting, and emotional balance, fostering a positive and professional outlook.

The Content Writing segment provided hands-on practice in creative writing, technical writing, and business correspondence, improving their clarity and expression.

The IELTS Training familiarized students with the Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking modules, guiding them toward international language proficiency standards.

Through this holistic training initiative, the college continues to empower students of the English Department with the skills, confidence, and global perspective necessary to excel in both academic and professional spheres.

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Trichy, in association with Naandi – Mahindra Pride Classroom, conducted a five-day Employability Readiness Training Program from 22nd September 2025.

The program aimed to enhance the career readiness of students by focusing on essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette. Expert trainers engaged the participants through interactive sessions, activities, and practical exercises designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.

The training proved highly beneficial, equipping students with the confidence and competencies required to excel in placements and professional environments.

Domain Skill Development Program – AI in Pharma, Medical Coding & Quality Control

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Trichy, in association with Learn to Upgrade, organized a Domain Skill Development Program on 09th September 2025. The program featured expert sessions delivered by Mr. Arib, Mr. Abdul Waseem, and Mr. Basvaraj Meti, who provided in-depth insights into AI in Pharma, Medical Coding, and Quality Control.

Final-year and pre-final-year UG and PG students from the Departments of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Hospital Administration actively participated in the program. The sessions helped students build a strong foundation in these critical areas and acquire practical knowledge to enhance their professional skills and career readiness.

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Trichy, in association with Inlustro, organized a Domain Skill Development Program from 04th August to 08th August 2025. The program was designed to equip students with essential skills in PowerBI and Fullstack Web Development through a comprehensive blend of theoretical learning and hands-on practice.

First-year PG students from the MCA and Computer Science departments actively participated in the sessions. The program provided them with industry-relevant knowledge and practical skills, enhancing their technical capabilities and preparing them for future career opportunities.

This impactful program provided students with valuable exposure to industry expectations and emphasized the importance of upskilling to stay relevant in the evolving job market.

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Trichy, organized a special Financial Awareness Program in collaboration with Knowise on June 23, 2025, at the YVD Seminar Hall.

The session was led by Mr. Shankar Sundaresan, Finance Educator and SEBI SMART Trainer, who delivered an engaging and insightful discussion on the importance of financial literacy. His talk focused on key topics such as:

• Phases of financial planning

• Investment strategies

• Introduction to Mutual Funds

The program was specially designed for the Final Year students of B.A. Economics, BBA, and M.Com, aiming to enhance their understanding of personal finance and investment fundamentals.

A total of 73 students actively participated and benefited from the orientation session.
