Mr. K. Santhanam was a Chartered Accountant by profession and a great Educationist by nature.
As the then secretary of the National College Council, he founded Shrimati Indira Gandhi College in 1984 with the aim to empower women in and around Trichy and make them economically independent.
Shri. S. Kunjithapatham was a lawyer by profession and he assumed office as Secretary of the National College Council (2004 - 2020).
A man of integrity, love and exemplary ideals, he put forth his efforts to enhance the college ambience making the college a safe and sought after haven for women.
He always strived for the empowerment of women through quality education. He gave impetus to research and academic growth and was instrumental in founding a CBSE school to diversify the vision of the National College Council.
Dr.K.Meena, former Vice Chancellor of Bharathidasan University, an able administrator, an erudite scholar & academician, a dynamic and versatile person, has devoted 35 years of her career for the growth of this institution.
Her services to society include all round development of women, dissemination of technology to the remote places of the town, rehabilitation of children with special needs, reaching the unreached.
She has been invited to participate in Academic forums at Singapore, Malaysia, Mauritius, Oman and Sri Lanka.

Mr. K. Chandrasekharan, B.Tech, M.S (USA), is the CEO of our institution. Following the footsteps of his forerunners, he is committed to developing the college into a top institution for women in India.
