The Institution's Innovation Council of Shrimati Indira Gandhi College participated in the IIC Regional Meet held on 1.12.2023 at B.S. Abdul Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. Our institution was represented by a dedicated delegation comprising 2 faculty members (Dr. N. Hemalatha, IIC Intern Coordinator, Dr. B. Varalakshmi, IIC member), and 2 students (K. Subalakshmi, II MSW, and G. Raveena, II M.Sc Biochemistry). The achievements of our IIC activities were displayed in the poster gallery of the regional meet. Our students had the opportunity to view innovative projects during the event. Faculty members actively participated in panel discussions on topics such as "Innovation in Education" and "Collaborations for Industry-Academia." Their insights and experiences contributed to meaningful discussions, providing valuable perspectives for development. The event provided ample networking opportunities for our faculty and students to connect with peers from other institutions, industry professionals, and potential collaborators.

The Institutions Innovation Council of Shrimati Indira Gandhi College organized a Hackathon in association with Smart India Internal Hackathon 2023 Competition on 21/09/2023. Dr.P.Gajalakshmi, Principal, Shrimati Indira Gandhi College inaugurated the programme.Judges for the Hackathon event are Dr.R.Saraswathy, Director Academic - Management Studies, Ms.S.Vembu, Assistant Professor and Co-ordinator,Department of English and Dr.A.Shanmugapriya, Assistant Professor, Department of Bio-Chemistry .The Students presented the problem statements and its innovative solutions in front of the judges who judged them based on parameters such as uniqueness, idea and presentation. Out of 50 teams 30 teams were short listed and registered at the Smart India Hackathon 2023.

We at Institution Innovation Council of Shrimati Indira Gandhi College feel happy to congratulate the JIM startup qualified students of III B.Sc., Microbiology, S.Fahamitha E.Claire Jofiel, and M.Edwin Nelsi along with their mentor Ms.K.Chitra Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology for completing the 2 days 'Kick-Start:Boot Camp' jointly organized by MCC-MRF Innovation Park, Madras Christian College and St.Joseph's Institute of Management (JIM), Trichy as part of start up Mela 5.O on 16th & 17th March 2023 at Madras Christian College.

Institution Innovation Council of Shrimati Indira Gandhi College,Tiruchirappalli participated in zonal level competition "Start up TN", conducted by TNSDG, girls championship 2022 (an avenue of ideate and create impact)at Bishop Heber college on 14.02.2023
