The Department of chemistry was started in the year 2010 and offers B.Sc programme. There are 5 members in this department. They are actively involved in teaching and research in fields such as organic synthesis, nano materials, phytochemistry, theoretical & computational chemistry

For the past 11 years, the Department has produced about 23 Rank Holders.
The Department actively conducts workshops, exhibition, outreach programme, industrial visit and special lecture programme every year.
One of our alumnae S.Uma maheswari is doing her doctorate in China with stipend.
Dr P.Lakshmiprabha acted as reviewer in the International Journal in “Ultrasonics sono chemistry”.
Two of our staff members G.Banukarthi & M.Anu received 20,000 rupees as seed money from our management & successfully completed their project on the topic “Synthesis, Characterisation & Evaluation of antimicrobial activity on Mn, Zn, Hg & iron complexes of N-morpholinomethyl succinimide” & “Synthesis, Characterisation of Mn, Zn,Mg & iron complexes of a sciff base” in the year 2011.
Our department has MOU with Dalmia cement factory, Kothari sugar factory, Gandhigram University, Andavar Mineral water company & Pure & pure aqua food for conducting Industrial visit, Internship training & consultancy.
