Library Genesis

The Library, the nerve centre of any educational institution, yields its riches when used maximally. It makes one mentally sound, morally good and intellectually efficient. It is a storehouse of knowledge and information. Our college has three well-stocked libraries, namely MCA, MBA, and General library. The 3 libraries have a total of nearly 51914 Volumes of Books. About 30 Magazines and 50 Journals are subscribed regularly. General library established in the year of 1984. MCA and MBA Library started in the year of 1996 and 2001 respectively.

The Library subscribes to about 200 periodicals which include national & international journals, and national magazines subscribed by various departments.

Many English and Tamil daily newspapers and magazines are also subscribed.

Library Automation and OPAC : The Library facilities are fully computerized. The accession, issue and return or renewals of books are carried out through Computerization. All the Libraries have OPAC system. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) handles Multiple Bibliographic Databases and provides Overall Operational Control, Multi Access Points, Optional Display Formats and Flexible Navigational Interface.

Multi Access Point really maps out exhaustively the entire Library resources, Keyword search with Boolean Operators and any word with truncation brings out fuller details. Users can view over dues and reserve Books.

In-house/remote access to e-publications : The library is equipped with a small number of computers connected to the internet. This helps users to access papers published in e-journals and open-access journals.

Internet band width/ speed 2mbps 10 mbps 1 gb(GB) : The 6 MBPS leased line connection facility is extended to the M.C.A library as well. We get a bandwidth/speed of 100mbps during peak hours.
