
DUTIES OF PRINCIPALS / DIRECTORS
The Principal as the Principal Executive and Academic Head of the College shall be responsible for
Academic development of the college
Guidance and participation in the teaching, research and training programmes of the college
Support for planning and implementation of curricula for various programmes offered by the college.
Promotion of faculty members of the college through conduct of seminars, refresher / orientation courses, training / induction programmes organized by the college / university.
Admission of students to various programmes offered by the college
Maintenance of general discipline of students, teaching and non-teaching staff members and support staff of the college.
Overall administration of the various centres of the college like library, laboratories, auditorium, seminar hall, hostel, sports facilities, etc.
Maintenance of accounts of the college
Correspondence relating to College administration
Accreditation / Approval and academic audit related activities of the college
Administration of curricular, co-curricular / extra-curricular and student welfare activities of the college.
Conduct of examinations, Valuation of answer scripts, and other exam related work, including supervision of University exams.
Maintenance of Assessment and Appraisal reports, service books and other records pertaining to staff.
Observance of Rules and Regulations, and other orders issued by the University and other such regulatory bodies from time to time.
Preparation of perspective and tactical plans for the development of the college and action plan for their implementation.
Promotion and career advancement of teaching and non-teaching staff
Promote decentralization and participative management to inculcate leadership skills among teachers and administrative staff of the college.
Tap resources from society, industries, government and non-government organizations for the development of the college.
Ensure use of technology (especially ICT) in academics, governance and administration for increasing the potential of the college and efficient use of its resources.
Address societal needs through outreach activities and services.
